Biography

Video games have been a major hobby of mine ever since my dad gave me his old Nintendo Entertainment System and Super Mario Bros. I first started gaming at a young age, growing up mainly on Nintendo and eventually the PlayStation. Very rarely, however, did I recognize the music in games. Sure, I knew the Mario theme, but aside from that, not much else. It wasn't until Final Fantasy VII that I truly began to appreciate video game music in general, and thanks to primarily Square Enix Music Online and it's wonderful community, my interests in game music have grown much larger. My top VGM artist would have to be Nobuo Uematsu. His work is just so epic and awesome! I don't believe any VGM artist will ever capture the emotion that Uematsu has, especially from his older Final Fantasy days.

Even though it took me a bit to recognize video game music, I've always been a fan of music overall, especially of that in the rock genre. I guess that's why I am one of the few people here at SEMO that actually likes the rock arrangements of songs. My favorite mainstream artist is Breaking Benjamin. I play the trumpet, and am section leader in my high-school marching band. We're not the best in the state, but it's fun anyways. My life basically revolves around band — I don't know what I'd do without it.

Aside from music, I enjoy gaming on Xbox Live, reading, drawing, watching movies, anime, and more. My favorite games are the Halo series, the Final Fantasy series, Chrono Trigger, Mass Effect, etc.; mainly first-person shooters and role-playing games, since that's really all I've played throughout my life. Anyways, that's about it. If you ever need to contact me, send a PM and I'll get back to you. Join the forums too! We promise we won't bite!
