A prominent contributor to Square between 1998 and 2003, Takahito Eguchi became Noriko Matsueda's long-term composing partner after he orchestrated a theme for Bahamut Lagoon and advised her on Front Mission. His first major project was 1999's Racing Lagoon, where he created most of the battle themes, the opening and ending themes, and a bonus remix in a complex electronic style.
Eguchi and Matsueda strengthened their relationship during 2000's The Bouncer, where they heavily arranged each other's works to create some highly sophisticated fusions. The only work that gave Eguchi significant popular attention, however, was 2003's notorious score to Final Fantasy X-2, regarded as more inconsistent compared to his preceding works, despite the success of its singles.
Eguchi left Square in 2003 after Matsueda retired but nonetheless contributed to the game's Piano Collection and International + Last Mission soundtrack. He now principally works in the anime field, having created contributions to D-N-Angel, Fantastic Children, and Trinity Blood. His other works include several arrangements and compositions for the Xbox 360's Sonic the Hedgehog.
