21 Jan 2012 - Composers Revealed for Resident Evil 6 & Revelations

2012 looks set to be a massive year for the Resident Evil year. In the next year, three new games will be released: Resident Evil: Revelations (January 26 for Nintendo 3DS), Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City (March 20 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC), and Resident Evil 6 (November 2 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC). Some details are emerging about the music for two of these.

It was confirmed by Iwata Asks that Kota Suzuki is the lead composer Resident Evil: Revelations. Suzuki was previously the lead composer of Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D. On February 22, Suleputer will release a two disc soundtrack for the game. A bonus disc featuring the score for The Mercenaries 3D will also be included.

The music of Resident Evil 6 will also be principally composed in-house. It was revealed on yesterday's announcement trailer for the title that Akihito Narita will be the lead composer for the title. The artist has assisted on a number of projects, including Resident Evil 5, Devil May Cry 4, and Monster Hunter Freedom, but this is a first major project as a lead composer.

Currently, no details have been revealed about the music for Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City. As the title is being outsourced to a Western company, it is likely a freelancer will handle the score.
