13 Jun 2011 - Yasunori Mitsuda Revives Chrono Cross Arrange Album

Yasunori Mitsuda revealed on his Facebook profile last week that he will produce an arranged album for Chrono Cross. On this album, he will revisit popular pieces from his acoustic RPG score with rich arrangements and performances.

The project was originally announced six years ago, but was postponed due to scheduling conflicts. Nevertheless, he released a string quartet from the album as a Christmas gift several years. Likely inspired by the considerable commercial and critical reception of the Xenogears orchestra album Myth, he has decided to finally release the album this year.

Now that he has finished his latest project at Procyon Studio, he is focusing his current attention on the album. It remains to be announced whether the album will feature orchestral performances.
