14 Jun 2010 - Eminence Announces International Composer Group, The Core

SEMO can exclusively announce that Eminence has formed an elite group of composers entitled "The Core". Although not officially part of Eminence, this dream-team of composers was specially selected for their artistry and competence in orchestral music by Hiroaki Yura. The group uniquely unites artists from both Hollywood and Japan. Its initial members include:

Hiroki Kikuta: The composer of Secret of Mana, Seiken Densetsu 3, Koudelka, Soukaigi, and Concerto Gate. After a period working as a game producer, he currently heads the independent record label Nostrilia Records. Hiroaki Yura recognised his talent and ingenuity after listening to his Super Nintendo, so was keen to introduce Kikuta to The Core.

Shiro Hamaguchi: An anime composer at Imagine known for his work on One Piece, Ah! My Goddess, and Final Fantasy Unlimited. He is known to game music fans as the orchestrator of the majority of Final Fantasy's cinematic and concert arrangements, as well as a leading arranger for the Final Fantasy Piano Collections series. He recently worked with Eminence on the Makoto Shinkai Image Album Promise.

Inon Zur: An Israeli-American orchestral composer that is a heavyweight in the Hollywood games industry. His credits include Dragon Age: Origins, Crysis, Prince of Persia, Fallout 3, and the impending Ace Combat: Joint Assault. He attended the Eminence Symphony Orchestra's performance of his main theme for Dragon Age: Origins in Sydney last year.

Cris Velasco: A leading composer for Sony Computer Entertainment's God of War trilogy that hails from the United States. With a touch for the grandiose and the epic, Velasco also scored Darksiders, StarCraft II, and Clive Barker’s Jericho. He is also famous for his electro-orchestral collaborations with Sascha Dikiciyan. His music has been commemorated by Eminence in the A Night in Fantasia series.

Kow Otani: The symphonic samurai himself. Otani has established a reputation as one of the anime music industry's most artistic composers with his contributions to Haibane Raibane, Godzilla, and Deltora Quest. In the games industry, he is best known for his works on Shadow of the Colossus. He recently performed with vocalist AIKA on Eminence's Echoes of War and A Night in Fantasia 2009.

Hayato Matsuo: A respected composer known for his works on games and animes alike. He is known for offering militaristic orchestrations to Ogre Battle and Front Mission, dark symphonies for Final Fantasy XII and Hellsing, and collaborations with Koichi Sugiyama on the Dragon Quest and Shiren the Wanderer series. His recent orchestral arrangement of Yasunori Mitsuda’s "Radical Dreamers" from Chrono Cross showed many fans of Eminence just what he is capable of.

Although The Core is not part of the Eminence Organisation, you can expect spectacular collaborations in the future. Hiroaki Yura recently managed Inon Zur's work on Ace Combat: Joint Assault, an international collaboration also featuring Masaru Shiina and Wataru Hokoyama. Furthermore, Yura recently revealed that he is collaboration with Kikuta on a top secret project. As Eminence and Imagine are very closely linked these days, there will undoubtedly be numerous future collaborations involving the two groups in the near future.
