07 Nov 2008 - Cologne Concert Named Symphonic Fantasies

Cologne Philharmonic Hall

On Saturday September 12, 2009, the symphonic game music concert Symphonic Fantasies will be performed at the Cologne Philharmonic Hall. The concert was due to coincide the new trade fair for video games, the Gamescom, which is the successor the Leipzig Games Convention. However, this fair was recently moved to August 19 to 23, so the concert will now be separate.

The concert will be performed by the eminent WDR Radio Orchestra and WDR Radio Choir. It will reunite the team of the highly successful Symphonic Shades - Huelsbeck in Concert, including producer Thomas Boecker, arranger Jonne Valtonen, conductor Arnie Roth, and soloist Rony Barrak.

Although the concert is deep in the planning stages, the content of the program has yet to be revealed. It's been rumoured that it may be dedicated to Japanese game music this time with even some Square Enix relation. Will this rumours turn out to be significant? We'll let you know as soon as an announcement is made.
