Since the other pairing seemed practically over within the 12 hours it was up, I see nothing wrong in posting the next pairing, which should get us near enough back on schedule! Vote here (www.squareenixmusic.com/uematsu.php).

Searching for Friends is nice and fun and all, but it seems a bit ambient and it seems like it could just use more, and sooner. Force Your Way was something that I listened to like 90 times in a row some five years ago and then had totally absorbed it and sort of forgot about it, but I still love and it has a place in me for one of my favorite battle themes. Also, it's pretty much rock. And rock rocks. >_>

Hmmmmm, this is a toughie. I'm gonna go with "Searching for Friends" simply because I think it's going to get mopped this round. And hey, if it winds up surviving, I won't complain either.

Searching For Friends is too nostalgic for me to pass up. It was the first song I heard when I played FFVI (long story). It had me from that flute. D:

The battle themes from FFVIII were all pretty blegh to me. If this had been Don't Look Back, I might have had to think twice. The rhythm in that song is just too good.

Besides, my favorite song in FFVIII is Residents. It's too avant garde for you! It's too REAL FOR YA!</chapelle>

Slideshow Part I and Shuffle or Boogie come in a close second, but the battle themes are nowhere to be found. D:

Oh, and Force Your Way has organ. <_<!

Well, both pieces are quite solid, but "Force Your Way" has more complexity, so I think it's deserving of my vote. I love how he gives the illusion of changing tempo by using syncopation and slight changes in meter. "Searching For Friends" is nice, but it has nothing like that.

This is an abiuous win unlike my spelling. I personally think nobuo did the some of his best battle themes in ffVIII.

Force Your Way for the win! I find it much more appealing than Searching for Friends.

I'm going to go with Searching for Friends just because I think it will be the underdog this round :D

Is that really a legitimate reason to vote for something? Not that I care... I'd be happy with either winning.

No, but if you can't decide, it's an okay way to go.

This is a tough choice... Because I like both music. :(

"Searching for Friends" has a funky bassline and an interesting background with the guitars/whatever instrument that is (silly SNES-synth), but the flute annoys me. "Force Your Way" has oomph, organ, and a lot of style...

...Hello battle theme!

Quite a predictable result.
