Aerith's theme is one of Uematsu's classics, so I can't pass it up. Freja's theme doesn't compare quite as well for me.

People are going to be bringing dislike of Aeris, dislike of Aeris's Theme's popularity, overhearing of Aeris's theme, and love of Freya into this, and they mostly already have. Very bad. Just because a song is popular or played a lot doesn't make it bad, despite what you may think, and may respond to this. Aeris's Theme is the better piece. It's beautiful.

As for bringing age into this, what?! If Aeris's theme is old, songs from I-VI are screwed. Regardless of "air time," Freya's theme has only been around for, what, two or three years more than Aeris's theme?

And for anyone that's like "zomg it's aerith and freija," then we may as well be calling Zidane Jitan, or just use the original Japanese names.

Thank you for making an incorrect assumption about the way I make decisions. I hated "Aerith's Theme" far before it was a popular song. Also, if you check my votes throughout the contest, you'll see that I generally vote against pieces such as "Aerith's Theme", "Rose of May" and other such sentimental pieces. Could it just be that these pieces don't really do it for me?

I know very well that just because something is popular doesn't mean it's bad. I love Gnarls Barkley, and you can't freaking get away from him when you turn on the radio.

I apologize for being curt, but I'm tired of people assuming that anytime an FFVII piece gets downvoted it's some sort of anti-establishment statement against the popular pieces.
