Half an hour earlier than usual (I've got a lot of site related stuff to do), you can vote here (http://www.squareenixmusic.com/uematsu.php). Have fun!

I think both of these made it in, where I wanted the others to win. Thus, I'm not particularly favourable to either. However, I went for Kefka...it's certainly charming with its dainty mix of waltx and the macabre. Jenova is actually enjoyable too, a decent battle theme with a fair bit of cheese but suitably impending. And as I write this I realise I probably let it be dismissed too suddenly. Oh well, Jenova's winning anyway.

I hate both tracks, so........ go with Kefka just because he's so insane.

I know you're matching these up just for me so I can struggle ever so hard in trying to choose. Probably so that my brain explodes. I see through your murderous scheming!

I think Kefka appeals to me more, but a sizable amount of my affection for it is probably just Kefka, and I don't really want this to be about him. I'll say it fits his character and that has a place in this contest, though.

Then you have J-E-N-O-V-A, a song that I've loved for a long time and appeals to the techno lover in me, as well as the part of me that appreciates some blare now and again and again and again.

I think I just like the latter better as a song. J-E-N-O-V-A for me, but as I'm torn, I don't care much which wins.

This is probably the only time you'll ever hear me say this about anything, but "J-E-N-O-V-A" was done better by The Black Mages. This is still a pretty nice piece, but it's kinda dull and characterless once the arpeggio intro passes. The string melody later on is nice, but doesn't really mesh with my picturing of J-E-N-O-V-A. "J. Absolute" is better too ;)

I'm going with "Kefka". It fits Kefka's persona so perfectly. It's michevious, it's malevolent, but it's having a damn good time being both. Gold star for this one.

I vote Kefka as well for reason stated above. Wasn't a big fan of Jenova, so that's an easy one to vote against. However, it looks like it'll be close considering the vote is 5 to 4 with Kefka slightly ahead.

Kefka has an awsome melody that suites the insane villian, however Jenova personally appeals to me more.

Jenova Absolute is a much more effective theme song. Kefka wins.

I can't believe J-E-N-O-V-A has gotten this far while Jenova Absolute was never even in the running. Jenova Absolute would have gotten my vote here, no doubt... but I will choose Kefka in this case. It definitely sounds more special and unique than its opponent.

Dear lord, someone quick, make J-E-N-O-V-A not win. <_<!

I highly doubt Kefka will go down that easily :)

I don't know, he only has one form, after all :X

But yeah, if Jenova Absolute had made it I'd vote for that over a lot of things, J-E-N-O-V-A included by a long shot. Same with Hunter's Chance, though. I'd vote for that over most things. >:|

I must be the only one here who thinks J-E-N-O-V-A is better than Jenova Absolute. The latter is even more repetitive than the original imo, with less to offer in terms of actual personality.

Still, Kefka is oozing personality, and I love music with personality. See a theme here?

J-E-N-O-V-A is less repetitive, but more generic, than Jenova Absolute.

The point is kinda moot though, 'cause I voted for Kefka.

If "Jenova Absolute" were a choice, that's where my vote'd go. I'll have to vote for "Kefka."

Another great pairing! Hopefully J-E-N-O-V-A will be dropped out... Go, go Kefka!

Woah. These brass stabs sound like Duran Duran on speed..
Nah, Kefka for me. Personality wins out, and the accented passing notes of course!

Omg and now the ff7 fanboys/girls show up when i don't need them i voted for kefka. it had to much character let let it pass by

Brittany

FFVII fanboys are now voting for their favourite first FF game they ever played in their life.
Because that brings up memories of playing their first RPG.
wadever...
And NEVER LISTEN to FF classics soundtracks.

Um... I don't think that is everyone's reason. You shouldn't be too quick to say that someone is voting for a certain song just because it might be the first FF game they ever played. Everyone has their reasons.

FFVII fanboys maybe you didn't read clearly enough but he says FFVII fanboys/girls not everyone

So if Kefka pulls into the lead can I start complaining about the FFVI fanboys?

I did catch that, but...

I am a FF7 fangirl and I voted for Kefka ;) So basically what I am saying is not all fanboys/girls are voting for the FF7 song.

So if Kefka pulls into the lead can I start complaining about the FFIV fanboys? Like there is any haha good joke. But compared to ff7 there is little fanboys/girls in ff4

I meant 6, and yes there are plenty of FFVI fanboys/girls. Those who are all about the "classic era".

Maybe we have diffrent defintions of fanboys/girls. because i don't think your one of them you probably like the game and think it's good but aren't a fangirl

I'm not an FFVI fanboy. I'm a Sabin fanboy. I ran a shrine years ago.

Sorry, blame my social life.

The results are in:

Kefka (FFVI) 50.79 % (32)
J-E-N-O-V-A (FFVII) 49.21 % (31)

Pretty close.

Yes! I was afraid that Kefka would lose, but I'm much happier now that it won.

Yes!!! *happy dance*

While a nice, back and forth battle between the two themes was pretty cool, I'm glad Kefka won in the end. No offense to the FFVII fanboys.
