I voted for the aria it's wonderful melody did it for me. Unlike attack of the silver dragons which is all over the place. It's percussion admitingly is quite impressive but it's melody is bland

I adore the Aria, a lot. Its one of my all time favorites. But Assault is just awesome.

Easy vote for the awesomeness that is "Assault of the Silver Dragons." It's got that militaristic edge that I love about FFVIII stuff like "Movin'," coupled with great development. I had forgotten it was so fantastic <3

Assault all the way... not only one of the best cinematic moments in Final Fantasy history... but with one of the most fitting and entertaining epic-sounding tracks ever.

Aria gets... quite repetitive. It's gorgeous when it's orchestrated... but let's face it, it doesn't have that "classic" feel that other old-school FF tracks do, and therefore sounds exceedingly aged.

Assault...it's just a fast paced tune and as stated above, It's just awesome. It'd also be a good front runner for arrangement on the BMIII album. Aria, while ok, does not compare to this song.

You'll be hard pressed at this point to find a piece I won't vote for over the aria. "Assault. . .", though brief, is dramatic and affecting. "The Aria" really never goes anywhere for me, whether it be performed live or synth, I just don't like it, never have.

I will be sad to see either of these go. I agree with what INH said.. Assault has really good percussion, but it doesn't make up enough for the melody. I think Aria does have that "classic" feel and to me there is something special about it that makes it more than just a pretty song.

Assault of the Silver Dragons is nice, but Aria di Mezzo Carattere is simply wonderful. I will agree with INH and Brittany about the percussion, though I will definately not characterize its melody as bland. But it's just another assault/militaristic theme for me. Even though I like it a lot, it doesn't seem to stand out all that much to me. Aria, on the other hand is absolutely adorable. I don't know if one must like opera in general in order to love this piece (I know I do), but it's sweet and brimming with emotion... You just have to love it. Aria's my vote tonight.
