Round 4, Pairing 3: "Battle With Gilgamesh (FFV)" vs. "Kefka (FFVI)"

This is by far the most evil pairing to date. Dave, I hate your selection program. It is pure evil. I can't decide what to vote just yet. Both have a sound that fits well with each character. This will be a result where I'll be sad to see any go. I'll vote in a bit. Much contemplating to do.

Now this one took some thinking... about 10 seconds, at least, which is more than most pairings have required.

Gilgamesh, while a fun and awesome theme, is not the best character theme ever.

Kefka, on the other hand, is fun and awesome, and it's the best character theme ever.

Logic will carry you to the end of this argument. :D

I vote gilgamesh. My gosh this is a tough pairing. But i voted gilgamesh because it's nobuo's most unique battle theme. Kefka is probably the best character fitting but i can't say nothing bad about it wow just wow

After 22 minutes of comtemplating (something I wish I don't have to do again this round), I've voted for Gilgamesh. It's such a unique battle/character theme. Kefka, despite you being just as worthy, there can only be one. Highlander.

This is the easiest decision I've made so far.

"Battle With Gilgamesh" wins. It actually has some impact and I'm able to enjoy it outside of the game. I can't say the same for "Kefka", which I dislike within and outside of Final Fantasy VI.

Gilgamesh is Uematsu at his best...Period. His battle themes are what have always made him stand out to me and Gilgamesh is top of the line stuff, no matter what I'm comparing it to.

I enjoyed Kefka in context ("Ahem...There's sand on my boots"), but I never paid it a great deal of attention as strictly a musical product. It's just another solid FF6 track, not much to get excited over.

Kefka is a great song, but I gotta go with Gilgamesh. However, it will be sad to see either one of em go.

Mmmmm, Gilgy. "Kefka" is a great wily villain tune, but it doesn't have that battlicious goodness that Gilgy has.

I'm gonna be a rebel and vote for Kefka. Its just brimming with the villian's essance, which makes for a powerful character theme.

Kefka > Gilgamesh, therefore (in such a tough decision), Kefka's Theme > Battle With Gilgamesh.

This is another pairing which proves that maybe a seperate contest for battle themes should be held sometime... I don't think a character theme can really be compared to a battle theme - the two types are just too different.

I'll go with Kefka. Never really got the feel of Gilgamesh. :)

Gilgamesh it is. Only really liked 2-3 pieces from FFVI, and non of them are here :(
