Ryo Yamazaki is an eminent synthesizer operator at Square Enix most known for his collaborations with Masashi Hamauzu. After a role at Jaleco, he programmed for Legend of Mana and Chocobo Dungeon's 2 and created three compositions for Racing Lagoon. He then came to fame implementing Yasunori Mitsuda's Chrono Cross score creating a 'guitar sound'.
His first collaboration with Hamauzu was SaGa Frontier II and the pair gained mutual admiration for each other's work on these projects. They subsequently worked together on Unlimited SaGa, Musashiden II, and Dirge of Cerberus. In each project, Yamazaki made unprecedented technical advances and won considerable praise from gamers.
Yamazaki has also worked on Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy XI Rise of the Zilart, and Front Mission 4 as a synthesizer operator. Recently he has also made a few compositions for the Front Mission series, Dirge of Cerberus, and the Square Enix Music Official Bootlegs. He is now speculated to be operating Sigma Harmonics and Final Fantasy XIII.
